At East Craigs we are excited to learn more about sustainability! This links our Eco Committee and Global Citizenship learning with education in the outdoors. A key focus this year is on energy – what kinds are there, how do they affect the environment and what are our responsibilities in conserving energy? Throughout the year, classes will be integrating sustainability themes into the curriculum. For instance, P5 will learn about the culture in Malawi and global issues affecting people in Malawi and P7 will learn about renewable energy and climate change.
Pupils in the Rights Respecting Schools Committee have an important role to play in spreading awareness and updating their peers on the work we are doing.

Earth Week at East Craigs
We celebrated Earth Day at East Craigs on Friday 22nd April by having a ‘lights out hour’ in school! We thought about the importance of conserving energy and protecting the planet. We also remembered our Eco responsibilities at home by taking part in fun challenges! Watch the video montage to see some of our experiences:
East Craigs goes WILD!
We had a great time taking part in Wear it Wild for WWF on Friday 27th May! We dressed up as wild or endangered animals for the day. This helped us to raise awareness of WWF and remember our responsibilities in protecting endangered species. Please watch the photo montage to see some of our super costumes!
