Primary 1 Term 2 Significant Aspects and 4 Context Planner
The boys and girls of primary 1 were very excited to receive a special delivery to the class…. Baby polar bears! Edinburgh Zoo set us a challenge of changing our classroom into a Frozen Planet in order to make the polar bears feel more at home. We have made a good start by decorating our classrooms:
TRIP TO EDINBURGH ZOO
Primary 1 went to the zoo to learn more about penguins. Our guide, Jo, gave us lots of information and was surprised to hear how much we already knew about penguins.
We also had a chance to see some of the other animals.
The weather was fantastic! It was pretty cold so we felt as if we were visiting a frozen planet.

Each child has the song words at home. Please find a link to some of the songs below to help with learning the tune:

We are very excited to have our new blocks arrive in primary 1. We have already started having great fun building with them.
As part of our phonics, we are learning to read and write “tricky words”. These are words that are difficult to sound out making them “tricky”.
We are really enjoying spending time with our P7 buddies and building our friendships. One of our recent activities involved creating “green men” by using clay and parts of nature found within the school grounds.
PE in primary 1:
This term we are learning all about travelling safely in the gym and finding our own “space bubble”
Phonics in primary 1:
Here is a link to our Jolly Phonics songs. Please practise these at home with your child, identifying the action to match the sound and letter formation.
